Greeted by your assigned driver on arrival at NJP / IXB and transfer to Sillery Gaon (95km around 3 hrs drives), your 3 nights / 4 days Silk route package tour starts from here. Sillery Gaon, a cool calm & quiet village in the Himalayan mountain at 6000 ft, is Surrounded on all sides by tall pine trees. It is in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal.  Farming is the main source of income for livelihood here, however, a sense of eco-tourism has been developed in the village and the villagers have extended their houses for homestays also. Some villagers have also developed retreats for providing services like hotel accommodations, but these retreats are too basic and meant mainly for budget travelers. These homestays & retreats provide meals with limited items. Bon-Fire, Bar-B-Q, Camp Fire, Camping, Trekking, Jungle tour can be arranged additionally by the homestays.

Villagers’ are very concerned about the cleanliness of the village and their collective effort makes the ambiance of the clean village. This village provides a nice view of Kanchenjunga and the trekker love to trek to Ramitay viewpoint and Tinchuley viewpoint and Damsang Fort also.

HARE IS THE FAMOUS SIGHTSEEING POINT OF SILLERY GAON:

RAMSAY VIEWPOINT: This place is about 2 km from Sillery Gaon and a very nice place to trek. A very clear view can be seen on a clear day of Kanchenjunga and other mountain peaks. Below from this point, the Teesta river can be seen.

TINCHULEY VIEWPOINT: This is another point to trek for half an hour steep uphill trek. From this point, Jelep La pass and Nathula pass can be seen on a clear day.

DAMSUNG FORT: This place is about 3 km from Sillery Gaon and famous for trek also. Some ruins of the fort are visible here, which were built by Lepcha King Gyabo Achyok to defend the territory from Bhutias.

SILENT VALLEY: As the name defines itself as a Valley, it is situated from Sillery gaon at approx 3 Kms and takes approx 10-15 minutes by vehicle and it is surrounded by Pine tree and its very quiet place.

After breakfast in the morning check out from Homestay and start the tour for the best part of the Old Silk Route.

Dzuluk or Zuluk or Jhuluk is a small village located at a height of 10,000 ft on ht lower Himalayas in East Sikkim. In this place, large military settlements can be seen. Because of Indi Chinese border is nearby this place. It is a base point for the tourist who explores tourist destinations of Nathang Valley, Kupup, and Tsomgo Lake. Dzuluk is surrounded by wild forests, Some of the forests are completely virgin, sighting of Deer, Wild Dog, Himalayan Bear. This is a place for bird lovers also, a variety of birds can be seen such as blood pheasant, Snow pheasant, Khalij Pheasant.

After completing your sightseeing you will be transferred to Zuluk, have lunch at homestay. Evening in leisure, you will get a very beautiful view of Zuluk Valley from here. Overnight stay at Homestay.

HARE IS THE FAMOUS SIGHTSEEING POINT OF ZULUK:

THAMBI VIEWPOINT – It offers a panoramic view of Kanchenjunga mountain from an altitude of 11,200 ft. The best point of this route, from where approx 95 turns of the zig-zag road are clearly visible. In the clear sky sunrise of Mt. Kanchenjunga is also clearly visible from this point. 

Kupup Lake – Kupup lake is at an altitude of 14000 ft, a famous place in east Sikkim. It is known as Elephant Lake due to its shape. The Yak Golf Course, The Ice hockey ground, and The Elephant Lake is famous tourist places. The Yak golf course is said to be the highest golf course in the world at an altitude of 13000 ft, it is the best water polo lake in the world and also hosts the water polo game. Tourists can also visit Jelep La Pass from here.

Nathang Valley – This place is an ideal place for winter snow festivals. Snowboard and Skiing can be done from this place. This place has been developed as an alternative to Zuluk for overnight stays. Staying overnight may affect tourists as high altitude sickness. 

Tukla – This valley is approx 16 km from Kupup Lake. The distance of Jelep La pass is also a few km from this point. Valley is covered with snow in the winter season and in September- October month covered with local flowers, so it looks like red blood. A war memorial is also built at Tukla in memory of British soldiers.

After breakfast in the morning check out from Homestay and transfer to Reshikhola. On the way, you will visit a Temple at Mankhim and Aritar Lake.

This is a valley situated on the bank of Reshi river at an altitude of 2000 ft in the district of Darjeeling and its subdivision is Kalimpong. This is a very calm & quiet place and makes a very special for nature lovers because the sound of the stream can be heard from homestays/resorts and the cool breeze will give you a romantic feel. This place is surrounded by green forests and mountains. Tourists should enjoy bathing in this cool & crystal clear water. 

In the rainy season road to Reshikhola is not good to travel, summers are a good season and winter is an enjoyable time.

Parvateshwar Shivalaya Mandir: This temple is situated on a cliff, to reach this temple you will have to climb approx 200 stairs.
